BS/MS 4+1 Program Requirements
The Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (MS) offers combined 4+1 Bachelors and MS programs that allow students to complete both the Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and the Master’s degree in AIin a total of five years of full-time study. Up to 9 credits of graduate course work (600 level and above) taken while an undergraduate, may be “dual-counted” toward the Bachelor’s and the Master’s degrees. The dual-counted courses are recommended to be courses from Categories 1 and 2 from the program policy document at the 600 level and above to be applied toward satisfying the requirements of both degrees. Students may choose the non-thesis or the thesis option. All requirements of both the undergraduate and graduate degree programs must be satisfied. Students applying to a BS/MS 4+1 program must have completed 75 credits toward their undergraduate degree. Students must have completed 90 credits before enrolling in the graduate level courses. They are recommended to have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 in their major and an overall cumulative index of 3.0 in undergraduate study. Applicants are expected to have scholarly competence in mathematics and computer science described in the policy document. Applicants need to submit an unofficial UD transcript, letters of recommendation, a completed Graduate Course Approval Form for 4+1 Admissions Application and a completed 4+1 Application. The application to this option is reviewed by the MS in AI graduate program committee.
